There are places in my bedroom that store a little dust.

As a child I only swept there if mother said I must.

When we pushed the broom or dust mop way beneath the bed,

The neighbors heard surprising words that everybody said.

Now I find my self collecting some dust balls in the mind.

It’s very hard to sweep them out, and leave them far behind.

But the Lord is quick to help me, as I call upon His name.

We clear away the clutter; Take the trash to whence it came.

So my job is very simple to focus on God’s way.

Keep the mind alert and active, brain stretching ev’ry day.

Reach a hand to those who need me – read His word aloud and pray.

As I spend some time on others, Jesus keeps the dust away.
