We stood at the edge of the forest,
And looked about with great dismay.
Those trees we had climbed as children
Had been cut down and taken away!
An emptiness flooded my being,
As tears ran down my face.
Now the forest is only a mem’ry,
The tree stumps but a trace.
Then a closer look brought hope to me
As we viewed each tender sprout.
They are part of a brand new growth,
There is no more room for doubt.
Well I’m Thinking today of Jesus,
He fashions a brand new plan.
So whenever things seem fruitless & lost,
He can create a brand new man!
